Hallstatt

Hallstatt, Upper Austria, is a village in the Salzkammergut, a region in Austria. It is located on the western shore of the Hallstätter See (a lake). The major tourist attractions of the town include Kalvarienberg Church which is located on the Kalvarienberg (a nearby mountain with an impressive view over Hallstatt, its lake and surroundings), Market Square, Museum Hallstatt, The Charnel House in MichaelÂ’s Chapel which contains 1200 skulls, Church of Christ, Lake Hallstatt where visitors come to admire the lake from the top of the close mountains, swim in its clear water, or take a boat trip to discover more about the history of Hallsatt and its surroundings.

Innsbruck

Innsbruck is the capital city of Tyrol in western Austria. It is located in the Inn valley, at its junction with the Wipp valley, which provides access to the Brenner Pass some 30 km (18.6 mi) to the south. The major tourist destinations include Ambras Castle, Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof), Stadtturm (City Tower), Jesuit Church, Innsbruck University Botanic Garden. Innsbruck is a very popular tourist destination, organizing events every year which include Bergsilvester (New Year's Eve), Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik (Innsbruck Festival of Early Music).

Klagenfurt

Klagenfurt is the capital of the federal state of Carinthia in Austria. The Old City with its central Alter Platz (Old Square) and the Renaissance buildings with their charming arcaded courtyards is a major attraction. Notable landmarks also include Lindworm fountain of 1593, Hypo-Arena Football stadium, Minimundus( the "small world on lake Wörthersee"), Kreuzbergl nature park with a viewing tower, Wörthersee (the warmest of the large Alpine lakes), Tentschach and Hallegg castles.

Salzburg

Salzburg is the fourth-largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. Salzburg's "Old Town" (Altstadt) is internationally renowned for its baroque architecture and is one of the best-preserved city centers north of the Alps.  Tourists visit Salzburg to tour the historic center and the scenic Alpine surroundings. Majour tourist sites include Hohensalzburg Castle, Sphaera: a sculpture of a man on a golden sphere, Mirabell Palace, Salzkammergut :an area of lakes east of the city.

Apfelstrudel

Apple strudel is a traditional Viennese strudel, a popular pastry in Austria. Apple strudel consists of an oblong strudel pastry jacket with an apple filling inside. The filling is made of grated cooking apples (usually of a tart, crisp and aromatic variety, such as Winesap apples), sugar, cinnamon, raisins and bread crumbs. Strudel uses an unleavened dough. The basic dough consists of flour, oil (or butter) and salt although as a household recipe, many variations exist.

Backhendl

Backhendl , the Austrian version of fried chicken is a very simple preparation of salt and peppered chicken pieces that are dredged in flour, egg washed, and then coated with breadcrumbs. Some versions season the chicken pieces with lemon juice as well, but others simply serve the fried chicken with lemon wedges, so that the lemon can be added as you are eating.

Wiener Schnitzel

The Wiener Schnitzel is one of the national dishes of Austria. Wiener Schnitzel is traditionally made of veal. The dish is prepared from veal slices, butterfly cut, about 4 mm thin and lightly pounded flat, slightly salted, and rolled in flour, whipped eggs and bread crumbs.
