Everest Base Camp, Nepal

EVEREST ! Yes The Mighty Everest! Even reaching the base camp of the tallest mountain on earth is a mammoth achievement in itself. 

This adventurous yet difficult trek is located in Nepal and could be approached through many paths but the best and the most recommended way is the one through Namche Bazaar. It is an approximately 12-14 day trek depending on your speed. The best time to trek is between March to May and September end to November.

The trail is as follows :

​

Day 1 :- Arrive Kathmandu
Day 2 :- Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding
Day 3 :- Phakding to Namche bazaar
Day 4 :- Namche Bazaar
Day 5 :- Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Day 6 :- Tengboche to Dingboche.
Day 7 :- Dingboche
Day 8 :- Dingboche to Lobuche
Day 9 :- Lobuche to Gorakshep to Everest B.C. and back to Gorakshep
Day 10 :- Hike upto Kalapatthar and retreat trek to Pheriche
Day 11 :- Pheriche to Namche bazaar
Day 12 :- Namche Bazar to Phakding to Lukla
Day 13 :- Fly back to Kathmandu
Day 14 :- Departure from Nepal

You should have a budget of about INR 80,000 (£952) to INR 1,00,000 (£1190) { from Kathmandu }. And along with that a will greater than the mountains itself.

K2 Base Camp, Pakistan

The K2 is the second highest peak in the World and is situated in India but can be accessed only through Pakistan due to border issues between the two countries. It is difficult trek and requires a lot of dedication and physical wellness of an individual and this should not be your option if you are a beginner at trekking ! 

K2 Base Camp & Gondogoro La trek requires mountaineering skills to cross this pass. Whereas for K2 Base Camp & Concordia this is a high altitude walk where no technical skills are required and you walk back down Baltoro glacier from Concordia. 

The trail is as follows:

  • Day 3 Sightseeing day in Skardu (or drive KKH to Skardu)

  • Day 4 Jeeps to Askole (3,048m)

  • Day 5 Trek to Korofong (3,100m)

  • Day 7 Trek to Paiju (3,383m)

  • Day 8 Trek to Khoburtse (3,566m)

  • Day 9 Trek to Urdukas (4,130m)

  • Day 10 Acclimatising day at Urdukas

  • Day 11 Trek to Goro 2 (4,250m)

  • Day 12 Trek to Concordia (4,600m)

  • Day 13 Trek to Broad Peak Base Camp (5,000m)

Chadar River, India

The Chadar river trek is the most mesmerizing yet fairly difficult trek that is out there, it is in Zanskar valley in the state of Jammu & Kashmir in India. This 8 day trek offers mind blowing views of the frozen river. Imagine walking early 75 Kilometers on the frozen Zanskar river with a fear of falling in anytime ! But don't worry the number of accidents in this trek is exceptionally low.

​

It also provides you with spots in your way where you can take a dip in the river with sub-zero temperature plus an added bonus is the frozen waterfall, you can climb the frozen water fall if you have the guts but please be careful as that is some real deal ! The temperature could vary from -5°C to -30 °C.

The trail is as follows:

​

Day 1 :- Fly to Leh.

Day 2 :- Drive to Tilad Do via Chilling.

Day 3 :- Tilad Do to Shingra Koma.

Day 4 :- Shingra Koma to Tibb Cave.

Day 5 :- Tibb cave to Naerak camp.

Day 6 :- Naerak to Tibb Cave.

Day 7 :- Tibb Cave to Shingra Koma.

Day 8 :- Shingra Koma to Tilad Do and drive to Leh.

After reaching Jammu & Kashmir the budget would not exceed INR 30,000 ( 358£ ).

Shrikhand Mahadev, India

Mahadev is the great India god, according to Indian mythology he is the creator and the destroyer, and Shrikhand Mahadev is all about worshiping the mighty, even if you have no interest in worshiping still this trek would prove to be one hell of a challenge for you and would provide you with breath taking views. It will take you on a spiritual journey with yourself and even if you don't believe that, we bet the high quality weed available there would make you believe !!!

​

This trek is situated in the state of Himachal Pradesh and has the highest point at 17150 ft ( 5227 m ) and would take roughly 5-6 days. At the top there is a 72 ft tall rock which is assumed to be as the shivling by the devotes. The best season is from late may to mid october.

The trails is as follows:

​

Day 1: Jaun to Taacharu. 12 Kms, 8 – 9 hrs.

Day 2: Taacharu to Parvati Baag. 13.5 Kms 9-10 hrs.

Day 3: Parvati Baag to Shrikhand and Parvati Baag . 6 Kms ,one side 4 hrs.

Day 4: Parvati Bagh to Taacharu

Day 5: Taachru to Jaun

Budget required is real low after reaching Himachal Pradesh, barely INR 7000 ( 84£ ).

Chamolhari, Bhutan

Bhutan ! The tigers nest and many more, this country offers a whole lot of treks ranging form the most easy to the difficult ones and the Chamolhari trek is one among the toughest. The maximum altitude would reach 15,810 ft ( 4,820m ) and would take 11 days for the complete trek.

The fitness level required for an individual would be advanced as the individual would have to cover about 130 Kilometers in the whole trek.

The trail is as follows :

​

Day 01: Arrival and Sightseeing in Paro (2,250m/7,382ft)

Day 02: Trek starts Paro to Shana (2,850m/9,348ft): 15 km, 5 - 6 hours

Day 03: Shana to Sio Thangthangkha (3,750m/12,300 ft): 20 km, 7 - 8 hours

Day 04: Sio Thangthangkha to Jangothang (4,040m/13,250 ft): 19 km, 7 - 8 hours

Day 05: Rest day at Jangothang Base Camp

Day 06: Jangothang to Lingshi (4,000m/13,120ft): 18 km, 7 - 8 hours

Day 07: Lingshi to Shodu (4,100m/13,450ft): 22km, 8 - 9 hours

Day 08: Shodu to Barshong (3,600m/11,810ft): 16km, 6 - 7 hours

Day 09: Barshong to Dolam Kencho (3,600m/11,810ft): 15km, 5 - 6 hours

Day 10: Dolam Kencho to Dodena toThimphu (2,350m /7,710ft): 8km, 3 - 4 hours: Trek ends

Day 11: Final Departure

The whole trip including visa fee would cost around 4000$ ( 3069£ ).

Kailash Circuit, India

The Kailash Circuit trek offers a great number of choices to explore, the basic Mt. Kailash trek takes up only about 2-3 days but there is so much to explore around that the trip would extend up to 15 days including reaching the starting points of trek.

The Mansarovar lake is an added treat to the visitors and is a holy river for the pilgrims.

The trail is as follows:

Day 1: Darcha to Dira-puk-Monastery

Day 2: Dira-puk-Monastery to Dzultripuk Monastery

Day 3: Dzultripuk Monastery to Dira-puk-Monastery

The budget would be around 2000$ ( 1534£ ) for a 15 day trip.

Roopkund, India

Roopkund trek is located in the Uttrakhand state of India and is the most beautiful trek out there, it is a fairly moderate trek and even beginners could give it a try. This trek takes around 5-7 days and takes you to diverse places in a single trek, you will get through a flower valley, plain lush green hills and then the final lake surrounded by thick snow.

​

The catch here is the lake itself, estimated around from back in the 9th century a group of approximately 200 people died around the lake due to a hailstorm and their skeletons remained in the lake and could be seen when the lake melts completely in summer. Moreover people have created a small temple in their memory near the lake with the bones recovered from the lake.

altitude would be 15696 ft and cover 55 Kilometers

The trails is as follows:

Day 01: Arrive at Kothgodam Railway station 

Day 02: Trek starts. Lohajung to Didina  8 kms, 5hrs.

Day 03: Didina to Bedni Bugyal (via Ali Bugyal). 8 kms, 6-7 hrs.

Day 04: Bedni Bugyal to Bhagwabhasa. 8 kms, 7-8 hours.

Day 05: Bhagwabhasa to Roopkund to Patar Nachauni. 12 kms, 9-10 hours total.

Day 06: Patar Nachauni to Ghairoli Patal. 6 kms, 3-4 hrs.

Day 07:Ghairoli Patal to Lohajung via wan. 5 kms, trek, 11 kms road. 6 hrs.

Day 08: Depart for Kathgodam

​

The trek won't damage your pocket as it could be done in less than INR 12000 ( 143£ ) from Kothgodam railway station.
