Cannes

Cannes is a city located on the French Riviera. The city is known for its association with the rich and famous, its luxury hotels and restaurants.The Promenade de la Croisette is the waterfront avenue with palm trees. La Croisette is known for picturesque beaches, restaurants, cafés and boutiques. Le Suquet, the old town, provides a good view of La Croisette. The fortified tower and Chapel of St Anne house the Musée de la Castre. A distinctive building in Cannes is the Russian Orthodox church.

Chamonix

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, more commonly known as Chamonix is a commune in the Haute-Savoie département in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. . The Chamonix commune is popular with skiers and mountain enthusiasts. Chamonix is a winter sports resort town. As the highest European mountain west of Russia, Mont Blanc attracts mountain climbers. There is a cable car up to the 3,842 m (12,605 ft) Aiguille du Midi. Constructed in 1955, it was then the highest cable car in the world and remains the highest vertical ascent cable car in the world. The Mer de Glace is one of Chamonix's most visited attractions and is France's largest glacier. The Mont Blanc Express is the train that takes visitors all the way from St Gervais Le Fayet to Martigny, passing through the all of the Chamonix Valley's villages on route and offer spectacular views of the mountains and glaciers as the train trundles along the valley floor. The train is free with your guest card (available from your accommodation provider).

Paris

Paris is the capital and most populous city of France. Paris has many important cultural institutions: its Louvre museum is the most visited in the world; its Musée d'Orsay is noted for its collection of French Impressionist art, and its Pompidou-center Musée National d'Art Moderne has the largest collection of modern and contemporary art in Europe. There are many notable monuments, including Notre Dame Cathedral and Sainte-Chapelle on Île de la Cité, the Grand Palais, Petit Palais and Eiffel Tower and the Louvre and the adjacent Tuileries Garden. Disneyland is also one of the most visited tourist attraction.

Duck Confit

Duck confit is a French dish made with the whole duck. A classic recipe is to fry or grill the legs in a bit of the fat until they are well-browned and crisp, and use more of the fat to roast some potatoes and garlic as an accompaniment. The potatoes roasted in duck fat to accompany the crisped-up confit is called pommes de terre à la sarladaise. Another accompaniment is red cabbage slow-braised with apples and red wine.

Jambon Buerre

A jambon-beurre is an extremely popular French ham sandwich made of a baguette sliced open, spread with butter, and filled with slices of ham. Each day in France, over 2 million jambon-beurre sandwiches are sold, more than any other kind of sandwich, even including fast-food hamburgers.

Steak Frites

Steak-frites, meaning "steak [and] fries" in French, is a very common and popular dish served in brasseries throughout Europe consisting of steak paired with French fries. It is considered by some to be the national dish of Belgium and France. Historically, the rump steak was commonly used for this dish. More typically at the present time, the steak is an entrecôte also called rib eye, pan-fried rare in a pan reduction sauce, although hollandaise or béarnaise sauce are not uncommon, served with deep-fried potatoes (French fries).
