1. Angkor Wat, Cambodia

 

It was originally constructed as a Hindu temple of god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, gradually transforming into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the 12th century. temple-mountain.

Angkor Wat combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the  and the later galleried temple. It is designed to represent Mount Meru. Overall this site is a delight for the traveler's eye.

This mysterious site is located in Cambodia and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an Indianized temple and the largest religious monument in the world, with the site measuring 162.6 hectares (1,626,000 m2 402 acres).

2. Petra, Jordan

Jordan originally known to the Nabataeans as Raqmu, is a historical and archaeological city in southern Jordan. Another name for Petra is the Rose City due to the color of the stone out of which it is carved.

 

Petra is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. The city is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. UNESCO has described it as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage".

The famed architecture of Petra, and other Nabataean sites, was built during indigenous rule in early antiquity. It is a must visit site for history lovers.

3. Venice, Italy

Venice is the capital of the Veneto region. It is situated across a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by bridges.

 

Parts of Venice are renowned for the beauty of their settings, their architecture, and artwork. The lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a World Heritage Site.  The city has 400 bridges.

4. Taj Mahal, Agra

Taj Mahal is one of the new 7 wonders of the world and is situated in Agra in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

It is a treat to the eyes of the travelers and can induce romance even in the most unromantic person in the world. It was created by a late Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and is totally made up of marble.

​

The story behind this place is itself fascinating as the emperor had it built for his wife Mumtaaz and later he executed all the builders involved in making this monument by cutting away their hands so that no other monument as great as this could ever be made. One heck of a reason to visit this place, eh?!

5. Santorini, Greece

Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast of Greece's mainland.  It forms the southernmost member of the Cyclades group of islands, with an area of approximately 73 sq kilometer (28 sq mi).

Santorini is essentially what remains after an enormous volcanic eruption that destroyed the earliest settlements on a formerly single island, and created the current geological caldera.

6. Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy

It is freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa, known worldwide for its unintended tilt.The height of the tower is 55.86 metres (183.27 feet) from the ground on the low side and 56.67 metres (185.93 feet) on the high side.

​

 The tower's tilt began during construction, caused by an inadequate foundation on ground too soft on one side to properly support the structure's weight. The tilt increased in the decades before the structure was completed and gradually increased until the structure was stabilized.

​

7. Redwood National Park, California

The Redwood National Parks are old-growth temperate rainforests located in the United States, along the coast of northern California.

​

These trees here are the tallest and one of the most massive tree species on Earth. These can reach up to 115.5m in height and 8.9m in diameter.

 

In addition to the redwood forests, the park preserve other indigenous flora, fauna, grassland prairie, cultural resources, portions of rivers and other streams, and 37 miles (60 km) of pristine coastline. Go visit this park for a magical experience.

8. Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan

Arashiyama is a district on the western outskirts of Kyoto, Japan. It also refers to the mountain across the ÅŒi River, which forms a backdrop to the district.

​

It has beautiful pathways surrounded entirely by bamboo forests and the rivers offers a great relaxing place. This area also has a Monkey Park.

​

Arashiyama is a nationally designated Historic Site and Place of Scenic Beauty and a must visit if you are in Japan.

9. Ladakh, India 

Ladakh is located in J&K in India and is one of the most beautiful destinations that this country has to offer.

The highest motorable road in the world is also located in Ladakh and among many wonders located here, another miraculous place is the Magnetic Hill which has magnetic properties naturally and pulls vehicles towards itself quite magically.

 

The bike trip from Manali to Leh is a must do if you are in the area. The path is extremely dangerous and has spots like Rani Nallah where the bikers have to cross a fast flowing stream on a narrow road with nothing but air on their one side ! Quite challenging, isn't it? 

10. Wulingyuan, Zhangjiajie, China

Wulingyuan is a scenic and historical site in south-central China's Hunan Province. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.

 The park covers an area of 690 square kilometers (266 square miles). Overall there are over 560 attraction sights to view. It features 40 caves, many with large calcite deposits, and two natural bridges

11. Benagil Sea Cave, Portugal

Benagil is a small Portuguese village on the Atlantic Ocean in Lagoa Municipality and the Freguesia of Carvoeiro (Lagoa).

Benagil Sea Cave in the Algarve is a true natural wonder. It’s a sea cave with a natural occurring oculus that towers over its own secluded beach. At the right time of day the Sun casts light through this dome, illuminating a stunning scene that anyone visiting Portugal should try to see.

The lavenders bloom from June to August in the Luberon, around the Mont-Ventoux, in the region of Sault and that of Valréas.
